Minnesota Frost earned a 3-1 road victory over Vancouver Goldeneyes at Pacific Coliseum on Saturday. The Frost controlled the game for most of the evening and left British Columbia with three points.
Minnesota's balanced offense was the difference. Kendall Coyne Schofield leads the club with 24 points in 30 games. Kelly Pannek has 23 points, and Taylor Heise has matched that number in 29 games. Britta Curl-Salemme has been productive as well with 22 points in 28 appearances.
Grace Zumwinkle added 19 points in 24 games. The Frost have five forwards with 19 or more points on the season, a depth advantage that most teams in PWHL cannot match.
In goal, the Frost split time between Maddie Rooney and Nicole Hensley. Both have been dependable. Rooney carries a .924 save percentage in 13 starts. Hensley has a .925 mark in 10 games.
Vancouver's lone goal was not enough to keep pace. Tereza Vanisova leads the Goldeneyes with 15 goals. Hannah Miller has 24 points and Sophie Jaques has 22 from the back end, but the supporting cast has not produced consistently enough.
Emerance Maschmeyer and Kristen Campbell have shared the crease for Vancouver. Maschmeyer has a 9-9 record with a .915 save percentage. Campbell has stronger numbers at .927 and a 2.30 goals-against average, but the team has not been able to string wins together regardless of who starts.
The loss keeps Vancouver in seventh with 27 points. Minnesota moves to 42 in third place, comfortable in a playoff position.
Minnesota returns to Grand Casino Arena. Vancouver stays home at Pacific Coliseum.
