Raygan Kirk turned aside every shot she faced as Toronto Sceptres blanked Seattle Torrent 2-0 on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The shutout was a statement performance from the Sceptres netminder, who improved to 5-1 this season with a .917 save percentage.

Kirk has been one of the steadier goaltenders in the league this year. Through 10 games in Season 3, she carries a 2.26 goals-against average to go along with her 221 saves on 241 shots. The 25-year-old was at her best against Seattle, keeping the Torrent off the board for a full 60 minutes.

Toronto's offense did enough in front of her. The Sceptres have no shortage of firepower up front, led by Natalie Spooner's 20 goals in 24 games and Daryl Watts' 27 points through 30 career games. Renata Fast continues to contribute from the back end with 22 points.

The win pushes the Sceptres to 28 points and an 8-8 record through 21 games, keeping them in fifth place. Toronto has played more games than most of the league, so picking up regulation wins is critical if they want to climb. They sit level on points with fourth-place Ottawa, who have a game in hand.

For Seattle, the shutout loss extends a difficult stretch. The Torrent sit last in the standings with 19 points and a 6-11 record. They managed just 19 points through 19 games and have struggled to find consistent offense, which showed again on Saturday.

The Sceptres remain at Coca-Cola Coliseum for their next home date, while the Torrent return to Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
