SEATTLE — Mikyla Grant-Mentis scored a shorthanded goal with 5:13 remaining and Danielle Serdachny added the winner less than two minutes later as Seattle Torrent rallied for a 3-2 victory over first-place Boston Fleet on Tuesday night at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Torrent trailed 2-1 entering the third period before Grant-Mentis broke free on a shorthanded breakaway. She beat Abbey Levy with a backhand finish to tie the game. Serdachny then buried a feed from Natalie Snodgrass to put Seattle ahead for good.

Alex Carpenter scored the Torrent's first goal. Corinne Schroeder stopped 26 of 28 shots to earn the win.

For Boston, Theresa Schafzahl opened the scoring in the first period and Susanna Tapani added a second-period goal. Levy made 35 saves in the loss, her second start of the season.

Seattle's defense locked down the final four minutes, blocking five shots to keep the puck away from Schroeder and protect the lead.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Torrent, who sit eighth in the standings with 19 points on a 6-9 record through 17 games. It also ended Boston's six-game winning streak. The Fleet remain atop the table at 37 points with a 13-3 mark through 18 games.
